The "Aha" Moment - Commitment

Here's my take on why "commitment" is such a heavy word and one that is difficult to relate to. In the past, when I felt a rush of excitement and enthusiasm about a goal I anted to achieve, I would jumped in and commit to new activities to be disciplined for. However, the enthusiasm only lasted so long. Soon after, the feelings of inspiration would leave and I just didn't have "it" any more.

A figurative lightbulb will go off when you
understand what "commitment" truly means.

In those moments, I didn't take the time to evaluate my true motivation and what I was ready to take on. All I was left with to help me make decisions were external stimuli what my trainer says, what the advertisement shows, what the magazine instructs, what I used to do 5 years ago. Usually , my motivation came from a place of obligation rather than choice. It feels like I "should" be working on myself rather than "committing" to it.
